NAE Executive Director Philip S. Miller Will Be Missed

The National Association of Entrepreneurship is saddened to announce the death of Philip S. Miller Executive Director. Phil passed away after fighting a battle against cancer. Phil was the first Executive Director of the National Association of Entrepreneurship. His multi-decade wisdom and guiding hand will be greatly missed.

“Phil was a steady, upbeat, guiding presence since the association’s inception,” says Doug Benns, NAE Board Member. “His commitment to NAE, vast depth of experience, and sage council will be impossible to replace.”

In addition to his position with NAE, Miller was a life-long entrepreneur, and led Frazer Mortgage, one of the nation's leading commercial mortgage lenders. In the 1980’s Miller’s companies were one of the largest Holiday Inn owner / operators, and were very active in a variety of multi-million dollar Florida real-estate development projects. Phil is survived by his wife Joanne, six children, and 16 grandchildren.

“Phil was a kind, caring behind-the-scenes leader, and the entire National Association of Entrepreneurship will greatly miss him,” say's Kay Catlett NAE Vice-President of Member Services. “His early work with developing programs and guiding leadership will endure.”

The NAE board will establish a succession timeline and criteria later in the the year. Current leadership activities will be assumed by association staff until a new Executive Director is selected.
